Kingdoms — Privacy Policy

Kingdoms ("the app") is a free companion tool for tracking game state in a tabletop Magic: The Gathering variant. This policy explains what limited data the app handles and how it is treated. By using the app, you agree to this policy.

What We Collect

The app does not require an account and does not ask for personal information. To run a shared game session, the app temporarily stores the following game data in a real-time database:

• The name or nickname you enter for yourself in a game
• In-game state: life totals, secret roles, reveals, eliminations, and the event log
• A randomly generated 5-character room code

The names you enter are whatever you choose to type. Please do not enter real personal information as a player name.

What We Do NOT Collect

• No real names, email addresses, phone numbers, or passwords
• No location data
• No advertising identifiers or marketing trackers
• No payment information

How Data Is Used

Game data is used only to synchronize the current game between the players in the same room and to show it on an optional display screen. It is not sold, shared with advertisers, or used for profiling.

Data Retention

Game rooms are temporary. A room is automatically deleted after approximately 24 hours of inactivity. Closing or leaving a room may remove its data sooner. We do not keep long-term records of games.

Data Storage and Security

Game data is stored using Google Firebase Realtime Database. Access is limited to active game rooms by room code. While we take reasonable measures to protect data, no online service can be guaranteed completely secure. Because room codes can be shared, anyone with a room code can view that room's game state.

Children's Privacy

The app is intended for a general tabletop-gaming audience. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because no personal information is required to play, players should use a non-identifying nickname.

Third-Party Services

The app relies on Google Firebase (for real-time data) and is hosted on Vercel. These providers may process technical data (such as basic connection logs) as part of delivering their services, subject to their own privacy policies.

The website also uses Vercel Web Analytics to count visits and which pages are viewed. It does not use cookies, does not collect your name or any account details, and does not track you across other websites.

Your Choices

• Use a nickname instead of your real name.
• Leave or close a room to stop syncing your data.
• Simply stop using the app — no account means nothing to delete.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. The "Last updated" date above will reflect any changes.
